Profile: A keen record collector since the age of 8 years, Sean G. (Sean Garnham) has an ear for a quality groove. In the early days it was all about early Hip Hop/Electro before progressing into funk/breaks sometime later. Early Inspiration came from NYC DJ’s Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa and UK DJ’s Hardrock Soul Movement, Dj Pogo and Tim Westwood. At the age of 25 Sean ventured into the world of Dj’ing for the first time playing at venues in his local North Essex area including the University campus. He was greeted with immediate acceptance by what was a predominately a young black audience, raving them through his knowledge and mature Dj sets/style . Further time and journeys into music styles saw Sean move into dance music in the mid/late 90’s, drawing inspiration this time from DJ’s like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles and our own Norman Jay MBE. Since then he has regurlarly appeared at a number of top venues in Essex, London, Norwich and Cambridge playing alongside Dj’s such as Norman Jay, Judge Jules, Aaron Ross, Conan Liquid to name a few. His style varies from deep to funky to electro tech sounds – essentially combining whatever is good quality house music.
